    Summary of previous projects

    Safer Northern Trust is has grassroots experience gained in the last three years, especially working Climate Change and Peace organizations in Wajir County. It has also supported County government of Wajir in implementing the CIDP in Wajir East sub-county, in community education and grassroots mobilization.

    Despite being newly registered its members have worked in Budget development discussions with the County government. It has supported NGOs in mobilizing and educating the community.

    Project implementation strategies

    Safer Northern Trust use the following strategies in our development efforts:

    - Networking – a good working relationship with the local administration and other partners has given the network the autonomy to operate at all areas

    - Local ownership – the organization represents diversity of communities and face of all peace structures.

    - Dispute resolution – Safer Northern Trust has a wide experience in resolving inter-clan conflicts and tensions.

    - Capacity building– Safer Northern Trust undertakes effective and continuous capacity building for local communities and stakeholders.

    - Research and fact-finding- Safer Northern Trust implements its development programs based on factual information and realities on the ground. This is achieved through continuous fact-finding and research work and community needs identification, problems and possible solutions generation and documentation of facts and aspirations of the community.
